My 2014 Bucket List

Lately I’ve been very conscious that my 36th birthday is fast approaching and I will be closer to 40 than 30. It’s led to discussions with my mum about a bucket list but I’ve been delaying putting pen to paper and writing one out.

And then I came across a post in my travels through WordPress which has inspired me to write one simply for 2014.

In the last post I wrote about my five intentions for 2014 with the fifth being incorporate more things into my life that bring me joy. That’s kinda vague so I unpacked 12 things – one for each month – that bring me joy and that have either been forgotten or aren’t as accessible as joyfully hanging with my cat, Mr Smokes.

  1. Take a week away in solitude – this experiment was such a great experience last year I want to repeat it every year.
  2. Go away with friends for my birthday weekend – I did this last year and it’s already being called a tradition.
  3. Go fossicking for crystals
  4. Join a lapidary club
  5. Get surfing lessons – I did this in Bali but I’d like to try again and perhaps do more than get up and fall off!
  6. Hold more dinner parties and unleash new recipes on my guests
  7. Ask Dad to give me a welding refresher
  8. Create something out of recycled materials – see ^
  9. Go camping – A friend suggested camping at the Leonard Cohen concert recently and another friend is going this weekend – very jealous.
  10. Join a lapidary club
  11. Take a writing course
  12. Road trips on my new motorbike with riding mates

I love this list and I’m so happy for the prompt to put it together.

Since it was such an inspiration it’s only fitting that it should feature as the first Reblog of the Week!

How about you? Do you have a bucket list for the year or your life?

  2. Thank you so much for the reblog of my post!! It sure put a smile on my face to learn it prompted you to make your own bucket list. I’m excited to hear about your camping trip when you go! That’s another thing my husband and I really enjoy doing also. Happy writing!

  3. Happy New Year!! Great post!! I am currently working on my list – but I really enjoy that you’re calling it a bucket list for the year 🙂 So far I have on my list…
    1. Send manuscript to publishers in Jan
    2. Continue writing regular posts on blog (1-2 per week)
    3. Connect in with guides, angels, spirits at least once per day
    4. Complete quarterly plan for my business (which I have never done before)

That is it so far, but I’m still working on it 🙂 It’s really exciting to think about and I love that you love your list!! I get really excited reading mine as well.
